A/Prof Laidlaw has a major interest and expertise in the management cerebrovascular problems, and is the Director of Cerebrovascular Neurosurgery at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He also has extensive experience and expertise in the management of a wide spectrum of neurosurgical conditions.

 

Having held the position of Chair of the Surgical Education and Training Board of the neurosurgical Society of Australasia and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, he has overseen the training and education of all Specialist Neurosurgery trainees in Australasia for a decade until 2016, and during this time has personally convened and all training seminars and educational programs. This has allowed him the privilege not only of educating and training new neurosurgeons, but also required that he maintain expert knowledge in the latest advances in neurosurgery.
